| The ability to deliver sophisticated, robust solutions to corporate customers is made possible by the Quofore solution platform. The product of a long-term development program, stress-tested under real-world conditions, the Quofore platform is designed specifically to meet the unique demands of next-generation mobile solutions. The following features of the Quofore solution platform are indicative of critical success factors that must be addressed in the deployment of any sophisticated field operations solution. Seamless integration with enterprise systems The Quofore solution platform supports data integration (directly via the Quofore Database or via an Quofore Staging Database) with any back-office or front-office applications using industry standard data transfer protocols. Data transfers can be set to run periodically, using the built-in scheduler, or can occur in response to trigger events within the application. Quofore solutions can integrate seamlessly with industry-standard enterprise ERP, CRM, and SFA applications (such as SAP and Siebel, as well as with bespoke in-house systems, external data sources (such as AC Nielsen and Aztec), and data mining, reporting and business intelligence applications. Versatile scalability for companies of all sizes Through intelligent design and optimization of resource efficiency, Quofore solutions can scale across a wide spectrum of operational requirements – from a handful of mobile workers to tens of thousands of concurrent users. For organizations with several thousand users, the Quofore solution platform supports scaling ‘up’ by increasing disk space and memory on the Quofore Server. For global corporations with tens (or hundreds) of thousands of users, the solution can scale ‘out’ across multiple servers and databases. User groups, application designs and progressive upgrades The Solution Platform provides the ability to manage a wide range of application administration and configuration requirements. These include different user groups, multiple application designs, out-of-office application deployment, and ‘progressive’ upgrades (supporting different versions of the application concurrently across multiple users or user groups). Support for multiple device types The Quofore solution platform provides support for a wide range of mobile computing devices including handheld PDA’s, combined PDA/cellular communication devices, ruggedized handheld computing devices and tablet computers. Solutions can also be connected to complementary hardware devices such as barcode scanners, digital cameras and GPS systems. Interfaces to multiple add-on devices Quofore provides API wrappers to support the use of a wide range of peripheral devices including printers, cameras, barcode scanners, Pocket Outlook, GPS, and RFID. Wireless, dial-up, or docking station connectivity The Quofore solution platform supports a range of options for synchronizing the handheld application with enterprise systems, including wireless connectivity over wide area networks (WAN). This can be achieved using devices that integrate PDA style functionality with cell phone capabilities, or by using Pocket PC devices that connect to cell phones via Bluetooth, infrared, cables or solid-state memory cards. In addition to wireless connectivity, the Solution Platform supports synchronization with a dial-up connection, or via notebook and desktop PC’s. Synchronization with on-the-fly compression A unique sockets-based, multi-threaded synchronization engine facilitates high-performance synchronization between Quofore field applications, the Quofore Database, and back-end enterprise systems. The transfer of data between handheld and server is optimized using on-the-fly compression (reducing transfer packets by as much as 80%). Only the data that has changed is uploaded or downloaded between the handheld device and the server. This keeps connection times to a minimum which, in turn, reduces communication costs. Synchronization Profiles also provide greater flexibility for end users. For example, a sales rep using a mobile phone during the day can perform a ‘quick sync’ (rather than full synchronization) to reduce data traffic. In addition, system administrators are able to modify various settings (including compression and hashing algorithms and block/packet size) depending on the network/s over which synchronization occurs. Uncompromising data encryption and security The use of on-device authentication (through user ID and password) and mobile database encryption provide the highest levels of security for Quofore solutions. The Solution Platform also incorporates additional, advanced security features. For example, in the event of a handheld device being stolen or lost, the application can be programmed to delete the mobile database after a specified number of days with no synchronization. Rollback recovery for both client and server Robust rollback and recovery protects the integrity of the information cycle. This is provided for both the handheld device and the database on the server, ensuring that no data is lost if synchronization is disrupted for any reason. Remote support for users in the field Quofore provides end-user support tools designed specifically for remote, in-field support. It includes powerful user-management features, diagnostic tools for support, and intelligent messaging capabilities. IT Administrators or support personnel (including Quofore support representatives) are able, with the appropriate security permissions, to review an exact duplicate of the data and application on any representative’s handheld device. Databases on handheld devices can be downloaded and uploaded between head office and the field for rapid problem-resolution and an immediate return to productivity. Detailed synchronization logs are also maintained to facilitate error resolution, customer support and management review of application utilization. |
